My goal is to use science, community, and restoration to improve understanding and management of ecological world.
What does that look like?
Currently I am working on several projects about how different plant life stages cope with global change factors (such as drought) and how species and functional diversity effect ecosystem processes . I use seed bank studies, field experiments, experimental networks, observation studies, and community partnerships. These efforts span grassland, oak woodland, shrubland, and riparian ecosystems.
Experience in land management and community building shape my goals.
I have worked for superb agencies and organizations, from Alaska Fish and Game to The Wildlands Conservancy. Now, I am passionate about bridging the gap between academic research and on-the-ground management.
